6CP Processor Panel
Description
The
6CP processor is the oldest processor that the City has still in
operation offered by QEI. It was designed to be housed in a card cage.
This card cage also holds separate processing cards for communications,
digital status, analog, and control. Although these processors are
still in use, they are being phased out over time. There are only three
left in operation.
Communications
The
processor board does not have any built-in communications to it. Again,
there is a separate card which provides the communications to the
overall RTU. That communications card provides a 4-wire, 1200baud
communications circuit.
Programming
This
card, like many of QEI's cards, contains a Link Chip. This link chip is
similar to Firmware of a device like a digital camera. It is the
operating system the resides on a chip. This chip can be
updated/upgraded if necessary. Accessories
There
are no accessories that can be added to the processor. The RTU can have
the usual status, analog, and control points, but that's about it. |
